Résumé

We report a case of retrocaval ureter in a 41-year-old woman, diagnosed through CT urography. She presented to the urology department with isolated right-sided lower back pain, which had been ongoing for about a year. Physical examination and laboratory tests were unremarkable. The CT urography revealed an aberrant retrocaval course of the right ureter at the level of L3, accompanied by upstream ureteropelvic junction dilatation, resulting in a reverse 'J' appearance. A diagnosis of Type I retrocaval ureter was made. Surgical treatment was pursued with uneventful postoperative recovery.

Retrocaval ureter is a rare congenital condition typically identified through imaging, notably CT urography.
